Rebrand (2019)
In the summer of 2019, Mikey and the team at Late Night Slice decided it was time to update their logo. Being a fan of their unrefined look, I pushed them to reconsider, but eventually came around to their thinking. The team wanted to transition away from their moon logo to a design featuring PizzaFace, who had organically become their main identifier over the last 7 years.
The following brand package included a PizzaFace logo, an alt moon logo, a script word mark, and a font family that paid homage to their original typeface. Along with this, I developed a sister package with a vintage look.

A Saddled PizzaFace, Acrylic on canvas, 5’x6’, 2018. This acrylic painting is based on George Stubbs, A Saddled Bay Hunter (1786–1806). It was created for the Mikey’s Over-the-Rhine location in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Hot Mikey’s Takeover 2018
Death Dealer, Acrylic on canvas, 5’ x 6’, 2018. This painting was developed as a package with the Vol.4 pizza box and truck tour shirt. Design and art direction for this project was inspired by Frank Frazetta and cell vinyl paintings done by animation studio of the 1990’s. It was created for the Mikey’s Over-the-Rhine location in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The Fall of General Tso, Oil on canvas, 3’ x 3’, 2017. The painting depicts the final blow in the battle of General Tso and PizzaFace. The deep fried American Chinese favorite has long been an enemy to the Pizza kingdom. Art direction was developed around Samurai Jack and Ashley Wood. This painting is currently hanging in Mikey’s High & Vine location in Columbus, Ohio.
